ANDALUSIA, ALA.– PowerSouth announces the recent addition of Patrick McCalman as Manager of Legal Affairs, effective March 31.
In his new position, McCalman will be responsible for overseeing PowerSouth’s day-to-day legal activities. His department will review and approve contracts, oversee PowerSouth’s interests in legal actions before the courts and represent PowerSouth’s interests in eminent domain proceedings.
McCalman previously served as shareholder of Murphy, Murphy & McCalman, P.C. in Andalusia, a law firm concentrated in the areas of secured transactions, real property, probate, estate planning and business organization. He also served as Assistant District Attorney for the 22nd Judicial District, serving as trial counsel for all juvenile cases filed in Covington County.
His additional experience includes service as Municipal Court Prosecutor in the Andalusia Municipal Court and Municipal Court Prosecutor in the Town of River Falls. He also served as a Municipal Court Judge for the city of Andalusia for eight years.
McCalman has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. He earned a bachelor of science in Finance from Auburn University. He is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, a Trustee of the Alabama Law Foundation and a former Clerk for the U.S. District Attorney in Birmingham, Ala.

McCalman is a member of several professional and civic organizations, including adult leader and treasurer for Boy Scout Troop 46 in Andalusia and a Board Member for the Andalusia Country Club.
