ANDALUSIA, ALA.– PowerSouth Energy Cooperative announces the recent promotion of Robby Hunt to Plant Manager of the Lowman Power Plant in Leroy, Ala., effective March 23.
Hunt, who joined PowerSouth in 1979, has been named to replace Brian Matheson who was promoted in March to Director of Engineering. Hunt joined PowerSouth as a Plant Chemist at the Lowman Plant, and was promoted to Plant Chemist Supervisor in 1989 and Plant Services Supervisor in 2004. He was promoted to Plant Services Superintendent in 2010.
“Throughout his career at the Lowman Plant Robby has continued to grow professionally and take on additional challenges,” said David Powell, PowerSouth’s Director of Power Production. “He has a great group of people who support him and work with him at the Lowman Plant, and they are extremely dedicated to what they do. I know under his leadership the Plant will continue to be a success.”
A 1979 cum laude graduate of Livingston University (now University of West Alabama), Hunt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science.
“I look forward to leading the Lowman Plant into the future while maintaining a well-balanced working environment for all plant personnel,” Hunt said. “We all strive to ensure the generation of the most reliable and economical power possible.”
A native of Cullman County, he and his wife, Patrice, have two grown children, Josh and Zach.
